MS Brabant

MS Brabant cruise ship (Amadeus Princess) is a time-chartered by the UK company Fred Olsen Cruise Line riverboat launched in 2006. The vessel is one of the oldest in the fleet of Amadeus River Cruises (Luftner Cruises brand). The Amadeus Princess boat was first chartered in 2018 (April through November).

MS Brabant cruises on Danube, Main, Rhine, and Moselle rivers, with departures from homeports Dusseldorf, Nuremberg, Budapest (Hungary), Hirsova (Romania), Amsterdam (Holland) and Basel (Switzerland).

MS Amadeus Princess didn't receive a refurbishment prior to Fred Olsen's time-charter. However, boat's branding and hull livery were changed, and there is a Fred Olsen staff member onboard in order to ensure the company's standards are met. The rest of the crew are Luftner Cruises employees. As Fred Olsen customers are predominantly British, the shipboard language is English and all payments are in GBP.

Ship charterer (Fred Olsen Cruise Lines)

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Ltd is a Norwegian-owned and UK-based cruise shipping company, part of the Fred Olsen Group (Fred Olsen & Co / shipowner, headquartered in Oslo, Norway). The company is headquartered in Ipswich (Suffolk England) and is owned by Bonheur and Ganger Rolf. The company was founded in 1848 (in Hvitsten, Norway) by the three Olsen brothers (Petter, Andras, Fredrik Christian) who bought their first ships and established an international shipping company. Today Fred Olsen Group is into its 5th family generation and operates subsidiary companies specializing in cruise passenger shipping, trade, shipbuilding, aviation, offshore industries.

Fred Olsen Group wholly owns the companies Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Ltd, Fred Olsen Travel Ltd (worldwide tours and vacations via independent operators), Fred Olsen Marine Services AS (shipowner and vessel management), First Olsen Ltd (tanker ships), Dolphin Drilling Holdings Ltd (offshore drilling rigs), Fred Olsen Express (Canary Islands-based fast ferries / catamarans), Fred Olsen Freight Ltd (cargo shipping and air freight), Fred Olsen Windcarrier AS (transport and installation of offshore wind turbines), Fred Olsen Production AS (offshore petroleum production), Fred Olsen Renewables AS, SeaRoc Group Ltd (offshore and marine consultancy and contracting services), ZephIR Lidar UK (wind measurement devices), Ganger Rolf ASA (energy and shipping). Also part of Fred Olsen Group, the company Bonheur ASA manages several fully-owned companies, among which are NHST Media Group AS (newspapers and online media) and the real estate companies Stavenes Byggeselskap, Koksa Eiendom, Fred Olsens gate 2. Part of Fred Olsen Group is also Timex Group BV - parent of several watchmaking companies, including the subsidiaries in the USA, India and Philippines).

Fred Olsen river cruise itineraries

Fred Olsen Brabant ship's maiden voyage started on April 11, 2018. The 5-day Amsterdam to Dusseldorf itinerary (themed "Springtime Dutch Discovery") visited Hoorn, Kampen, Deventer, Arnhem, Nijmegen.

Fred Olsen planned a large amount of daylight cruising into company's new river cruise tours so that passengers can make the most of the scenery at the day's best time. Cabins

Amadeus Princess (Brabant) ship has four decks - Sun Deck plus 3 cabin decks named after the famous Austrian composers Haydn, Mozart, and Strauss. The river ship has a total of 80 staterooms, 68 of which are sized 160 ft2 (15 m2) and with French balconies (aka Juliette Balcony) and panoramic floor-ceiling windows. Both suites are on Mozart Deck, sized 235 ft2 (22 m2) and with French balconies. On the Lower (Haydn) Deck are located 12 Porthole Cabins (sized 160 ft2 / 15 m2) with fixed (non-opening) windows.

All staterooms provide as standard amenities twin beds (convertible to double / Queen-size bed), bedside cabinets, en-suite bathroom (with WC, shower, single-sink vanity, under-sink storage, hairdryer), seating area (with coffee table, 2 armchairs), wardrobe, mirrored dressing table (writing desk) with stool, flat TV (wall-mounted), direct-dial phone, electronic safe box (in the closet), interactive infotainment system (with TV Internet and complimentary on-demand movies), individually controlled air-conditioning. All Juliette Balcony rooms are with mini-bar (refrigerator with payable drinks) and larger bathroom (with bathtub and bathrobes). Suite passengers are served by a personal concierge and also get complimentary morning coffee room service.

Shipboard facilities

Meals are served in Panorama Restaurant on Mozart Deck, where passengers can try light bites in the early morning with 'Early Riser' tea, coffee, and pastries or buffet breakfast a little later. Lunch is offered either standard sit-down with 3 delicious courses or buffet style, while dinners are 5-course gourmet affairs with complimentary regional wines. The carefully crafted menus feature a number of classic favorites and vegetarian options. Guests with special dietary requests have to let the staff know at the time of booking. Produce is regional and fresh. Passengers can also indulge in the afternoon tea and cake service, or pamper with a midnight snack. A Dining Drinks Upgrade package is available for GBP 10 per person, per night to enjoy as much European lager, bitter and branded soft drinks, red and white house wines at lunch and dinner as guests like.

Guests spend their leisure time on the Sun Deck, where they can admire the sights from deck chairs or practice their putting on the putting green. MS Amadeus Princess (Brabant) also features a giant chessboard and shuffleboard. A hot tub is located aft. Other amenities onboard include massage, a hairdresser, a fitness room, Internet station, Vital Club, Amadeus Club (open 24 hours per day), Lido Bar, Panorama Bar Lounge (live entertainment). On tours and excursions, passengers can use complimentary bikes (5x bicycles) and wireless audio systems.
