27 April 2019Sea PollutionOn April 27, 2019, the riverboat was reported for pollution in Rüdesheim am Rhein (Germany). The incident happened in the late evening and involved spilling accidentally over 3000 liters (790+ US gallons) of fuel (marine diesel oil) while the ship was berthed in Rudesheim. Reportedly, the spill stretched out for around 28 km (17 ml) down Rhine River, in the direction of Koblenz. The accident occurred at the beginning of 7-day Basel to Nuremberg cruise (itinerary April 25 - May 2) visiting Kehl-Strasbourg, Rudesheim am Rhein, Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Wertheim am Main, Miltenberg, Wurzburg, and Bamberg. |
