15 October 2018Crew / Passenger DeathsOn October 15, 2018, the body of a female passenger (in her 30s) was discovered in her stateroom. The Finnish woman was found by the cruise ferry's hotel staff during cabin cleaning after the ship docked in Turku Finland (~7:15 pm). On Oct 16, Finnish police announced there was no crime involved and that the cause of death will be investigated. The woman traveled together with her husband, who disembarked the ferry in Turku on his own, without notifying anyone about his wife's death. He was soon located (in the harbor area) and taken into custody. The incident occurred during a regularly scheduled 23-hour crossing from Stockholm (Sweden) to Turku. Ferry's scheduled Turku departure (8:15 pm) was delayed with ~1,5 hours. |
30 September 2017Crew / Passenger Crimes(sexual) On September 30, 2017, a male passenger (Finnish) was arrested by the police in Stockholm (Port Vartahamnen). The man was charged with alleged sexual assault - rape of a younger female passenger (Finnish) on the ferry. The woman was transported by the police to a hospital for examination. |
