27 October 2018Fire AccidentOn October 27, 2018, at ~3 am, the ship suffered an engine room fire accident near Ustica island, en-route from Palermo (Sicily) to Livorno. The ship was carrying a total of 262 passengers and 85 crew, plus wheeled freight (cars, campers, trailers, motorbikes). The fire left the cruise ferry with 3 operational diesel engines (out of 4). At reduced speed (down to 11 kph / 7 mph) it returned back to Palermo for repairs. |
