02 December 2016Crew / Passenger Deaths

(overboard) On December 2, 2016, at ~3 am, a female passenger went overboard while the ship was near Pembroke (Wales UK), en-route from Pembroke to Rosslare Europort (Ireland). The ferry's crew discovered that the passenger was missing at ~8:15 am (during disembarkation in Rosslare), then the incident was reported to the Coast Guard.

The Irish Coast Guard immediately conducted a search and rescue operation, deploying 2 rescue helicopters (117 and 187) on the track line in Milford Haven's channel. In the operation also participated lifeboats from the ferry, 1 port vessel, Dyfed–Powys and Northern Ireland police boats.

At ~3:30 pm, the dead body was found in the Lawrenny (Pembrokeshire) area and the search was ended.

30 July 2008Fire Accident

On July 30, 2008, at ~2:30 am, the ship suffered an engine room fire accident while berthed at Pembroke Dock (Wales). The fire broke out in the oil heater (boiler room), which function is to preheat diesel fuel (marine diesel oil) for the main engines.

The ship was scheduled to leave for Rosslare-Europort (Ireland) at 2:45 am, carrying a total of 227 passengers plus 89 crew. At 4:20 am, the fire was finally extinguished, without any injuries.

The next two scheduled voyages - at 2:45 am (Pembroke-Rosslare) and 8:45 am (the reverse Rosslare-Pembroke) - were canceled.

 

16 June 2007Crew / Passenger Deaths

(overboard) On June 16, 2007, at ~9:30 pm, a 34-year-old male passenger was reported missing and presumably fell overboard. The ship was en-route from Rosslare (Ireland) to Fishguard (Wales, UK), approx 21 ml / 34 km northwest off Pembrokeshire's coast (St David's Head).

A French warship launched its helicopter to search the area. At around midnight, the operation was suspended. The man's body was never found.

18 November 2006Crew / Passenger Deaths

(overboard) On November 18, 2006, a 57-year-old male passenger was reported fell overboard near the end of the crossing Rosslare-Pembroke Dock.  The conducted search and rescue operation found the body.
