The vessel was previously known as During its service history, the ship was operated under the names Astor (1981-85, for HADAG Seetouristik und Fahrdienst AG), Arkona (1985-2002, for Safmarine Container Lines NV), Astoria (2002-2010, for Transocean Tours), Saga Pearl II (2010-2019, for Saga Cruises). In the period May 2012  through November 2013, the cruise ship was named "Quest for Adventure" and operated by Saga's new brand Adventure Cruises.

24 November 2018Coast Guard Medevacs

On November 24, 2018, a 75-year-old male passenger was medevaced by a Portuguese coastguard vessel, approx 4 km (2 ml) off Algarve coast (mainland Portugal's southernmost region). The elderly British man was as suffering from health problems.

The cruise liner contacted Portimao Maritime Police at ~11 am, requesting a medical evacuation. He was offloaded (together with two companions) on a CG lifeboat dispatched from Ferragudo. They were transported to Ferragudo, from where was transported by an ambulance to Portimao Hospital for treatment. During the medevac, the man was conscious and in stable condition, but his chronic illness required special medical care that could not be provided on the cruise ship.

The incident occurred during 17-day "The Moorish Mediterranean" cruise (itinerary Nov 13-30) roundtrip from homeport Portsmouth England to Lisbon, Tangier, Melilla, Algiers, Port Mahon (Menorca Island), Motril, Malaga, and Ceuta.

29 August 2018Ship Collision / Allision

On August 29, 2018, while manoeuvring in Dartmouth Harbour (Devon, England UK), the cruise ship (assisted by a pilot boat run by the harbourmaster) crashed into 4 anchored yachts. The boats suffered only minor ("superficial") damages. No injuries were reported.
