26 April 2018Coast Guard MedevacsOn April 26, 2018, USCG Cape Cod station dispatched a rescue helicopter crew to medevac a 76-year-old male passenger experiencing paralysis. The ship was approx 80 ml (130 km) from Nantucket Island (Massachusetts). The ship notified USCG ~9:30 am and the helicopter arrived ~12 noon. The elderly man was airlifted and transported to Cape Cod Hospital. The incident occurred during the 16-day Transatlantic repositioning cruise (itinerary April 21 - May 7) from Fort Lauderdale (Florida) to Dublin (Ireland). |
02 January 2018Crew / Passenger Deaths(overboard) On Jan 1, 2018, at ~midnight, an 80-year old female passenger purportedly jumped overboard from her cabin's balcony. According to passengers, the stateroom was taped off and its balcony had roping on the railing. The ship was en-route from Aruba Island to Port Everglades FL, returning from the 16-day Caribbean "Christmas and New Year Cruise 2017" (itinerary December 18 - January 3) roundtrip from homeport Fort Lauderdale, Florida. |
