November 2019Fire AccidentOn November 28, 2019, during the riverboat's construction in Cairo, a shipyard fire caused serious damages and ship's launch (float-out from drydock) was delayed (from January to August 2020). The accident resulted only in material damages and no fatalities or injuries as at the time of the fire no one was on the vessel. After a thorough damage assessment, the shipowner Uniworld announced a delayed delivery and inauguration - rescheduled for September 26, 2020, instead of the planned January 6, 2020. To all affected bookings (passengers) were offered a full refund or alternative arrangements on the fleetmate River Tosca. |
