ACL American Eagle cabins review
Follows the review of ACL American Eagle ship cabins as amenities, furniture and included (complimentary) services.
Most staterooms (48 out of 56 total, or ~85%) feature a private, step-out balcony accessible from the living room via a sliding, floor-ceiling glass door. Cabin balconies are similarly-sized, excluding only Deck 4's suites (Grand and Sky). Each balcony is furnished with a small round table and two deckchairs.
Hotel beds are Queen-size double or two twins, with plush headboards, ample under-bed storage space (for suitcases), bedside cabinets (3-drawer, with reading lamps), 2-door wardrobe/closet, chest of drawers (bedroom dresser), individual climate control, medical emergency button.
Regardless of cabin category, each accommodation has a hotel-style, full-size bathroom (with shower, hairdryer, Judith Jackson brand premium bath amenities - shampoo, body wash, conditioner, moisturizer, mouthwash, facial bar, bath soaps, vanity kit), smart HDTV (local and satellite reception, infotainment system with Internet and on-demand movies), phone (onboard communication only), coffee-maker, alarm clock, mirrored vanity desk with chair.
Suites are in 3 categories - GS-Grand, SS-Sky, and VS-Veranda. Of those, VS-Veranda is slightly larger than the Standard Balcony, but with a premium/upper-deck location. The two-room Grand and Sky suites are the largest accommodations and offer as extra amenities a separate living room/bedroom (2x TVs), fresh flowers, terry robes, refrigerated mini-bar, in-room dining service (continental breakfast served on the balcony), King-size beds, bed bench, contemporary furniture (armchairs, 2-seater couch, dining table with 2 chairs), marble bathrooms (double-sink vanity).
Free of charge Wi-Fi Internet access is with shipwide coverage. Complimentary are served alcohol (beer and wine by the glass at lunches and dinners), unlimited drinks (soda, water, juices, coffee, tea), snacks (including freshly baked), room service.
American Cruise Lines deals are non-inclusive of gratuities and port fees. Since 2022, domestic flights (between airports in the USA/including all the company's 19 ports in 16 US states) are with flat-rate priced airfares (fixed/not subject to future changes). Also since 2022, ACL prices are inclusive of a pre-cruise hotel overnight in the homeport/departure port city.
MS American Eagle has a total of 3 single cabins (for solo travelers) that can be booked with single-occupancy rates (no single supplement is required). Each stateroom has a balcony (low table + chair), French-sized bed (6x5 ft/190x140 cm), mirrored writing desk with chair, TV, bedside table with a reading lamp.
The ship has only one handicapped stateroom (category AAM balcony cabin #210, located midship-starboard on Deck 2). The cabin is wheelchair-accessible (for disabled passengers), with two separate beds, a convenient near-lift location, and is ADA-compliant. The stateroom is designed with larger doors (entry and bath) and turning spaces, and a larger bathroom (fitted with a raised toilet seat with arms).
Of all staterooms, only 8 (all positioned forward on Deck 1/category AAC) are without balconies.
