Review of Azamara Quest deck 10 (Sports-Lounge-Restaurants)
The Living Room (formerly Looking Glass) is a fore-located indoor observation lounge & bar with floor-ceiling windows, large central-location dance floor, stage for live performances, DJ booth, comfortable seating (leather sofas, upholstered chairs), sculptures of Murano glass. Nightly, The decor also features several plush-cushioned birdcage chairs (suspended on metal hangers) and touch-screen tables (Internet-connected /for sending complimentary e-postcards, information on future cruise itineraries available for booking). The Living Room transforms into disco nightclub with DJ programming. Here is also served Afternoon Tea (between 4-5 pm) complimented with mini sandwiches, pastries and champagne. Entertainment options include daily scheduled activities (bingo, cooking demos, arts-crafts, art auctions), late afternoon trivia program (served tapas and wine) and solo guitar performances in the evenings. The Living Room becomes Disco Nightclub (with DJ programming after 11 pm). Part of the lounge are: In-Touch (Internet Cafe with four PC stations), Card Room (starboard views, jigsaw puzzles, cards and board games playing, bridge tournaments) and Tapas Bar (food station with a coffee machine and mini sandwiches served during the day).
Tapas Bar (open between 4:30 – 8 pm) serves complimentary tapas. The bar displays a total of 8 plated dishes with small bites (4x hot, 4 cold). Among the food offered are grilled calamari, garlic shrimp, artichokes with clams, marinated peppers, tortilla with pepper-tomato salad, avocados with Carpaccio of Cecina. At an additional fee per person can be booked wine tasting events (held here each evening) that offer tapas and wine pairing.
Power walking / jogging track (13 laps = 1 mi) encircles the main pool’s upper level (balcony area). Here is also positioned a small deck games area (starboard) with a ping-pong / tennis table)
The Drawing Room is the ship’s library (via partnership with Assouline) with comfortable seating (couches and chairs), books in different languages, board games, puzzles. Drawing Room is equipped with interactive tabletops (touchscreens) for art design (by a Scribble app), sending digital postcards, surfing social media websites. Drawing Room also hosts top suite guests exclusive events, including private cocktail parties and gala dinners (attended by the Captain and chief officers /once per cruise).
Aqualina (aft-portside location) open between 6-9:30 pm) is a dinner-only Italian restaurant at surcharge $25 pp (complimentary for Suite passengers). Reservations for both are recommended. The 4-course dinner menu includes antipasti / appetizers (beef Carpaccio, tuna tartare, buffalo mozzarella), soups and salads (minestrone /vegetables with pasta, lobster bisque, onion-cheese), secondi / entrees (mushroom risotto, duck confit, shrimp, grilled eggplant roulade) and desserts (tiramisu, limoncello souffle, flourless chocolate torte). The Aqualina restaurant also offers caviar bar (free of charge).
Prime C (aft-starboard location, open between 6-9:30 pm) is a dinner-only specialty restaurant at surcharge $25 pp (complimentary for Suite passengers). This is a premium steakhouse / seafood restaurant with small capacity, so reservations are recommended. The 4-course menu offers soups (lobster bisque, bouillabaisse), salads (also with fruits), appetizers (brie, scallops), entrees (filet mignon, ribeye steak, T-bone steak, veal tenderloin, chateaubriand, ossobucco /veal, lamb rack, roasted duck, pan-seared seabass, grilled swordfish, salmon, tuna tartare), desserts (chocolate fondue, chocolate souffles, gourmet donuts). The menu also has vegetarians items (zucchini pancakes, enchilada, creamed spinach, sauteed/steamed veggies) and an impressive selection of sides. Prime C restaurant features floor-ceiling windows (starboard views) and intimate seating. The wait staff is polite, knowledgeable in each dish ingredients and able to suggest wine pairings.
Wine Cellar is a glass-enclosed area (part of the Prime C) functioning as a premium wine bar with 8000+ bottles collection of various labels (limited-small-rare vintages). The room hosts wine tasting events (with dedicated sommelier service), also “Wine Corner” (exclusive club) events, private dinners and parties.
“Chef’s Table” is an exclusive dinner package (at $95 pp fee, reservation-only) held at the Wine Cellar room several times per sailing. The 5-course menu is rotating (3 menus in total- French, Italian and Californian cuisine specialties). The package includes premium wines pairing (with each course) and dedicated sommelier service. Among the menu items are signature soups (veloute with smoked tomato), salads (nicoise /tuna, panzanella /crab, lobster-avocado), tagliatelle (pasta), seafood specialties (tuna tartare, scallops, halibut, seared seabass, surf and turf /seafood with red meat), steaks (prime NY strip loin, beef filet, veal tenderloin), gourmet desserts (chocolate amaretto panna cotta, chocolate mud pie). Chef’s Table dinners are hosted by a guest speaker or one of the ship’s senior officers.
