Review of Carnival Encounter deck 6 (Lobby-Casino-Dining2-Shops2)
The fore-located Marquee Theatre (level 2 of 3) is the ship’s main show lounge presenting in the evenings large scale music, and show productions. During the day, here are hosted trivia games, bingo sessions, game shows, culinary demonstrations, various workshops, seminars, kids' talent shows, and The Edge activities. The main theatre has 2 nightly sessions. The venue has a bar, and a massive LCD screen, adding a lot of high-tech spirit to the stage design.
Casino (casino cashier cage). The Casino lounge has slot machines and gambling tables and is served with drinks by its own bar with big-size TVs. The casino includes modern poker machines with large curved screens. Texas Hold'em tournaments and Pokies tournaments are held here.
Forward, between the Casino and the Theatre, is The Bonded Store - a bar lounge with a signature cocktails menu (via a partnership with Archie Rose Distilling Co) where themed whisky- and gin-making classes and tasting events are hosted.
Dreams Studio (photo sessions studio).
The Atrium (mid-level 2 of 3) houses the Reception/Guest Services Desk (24-hour passenger services and assistance - information, purser, booking, reservations), and The Fun Shops - the ship's duty-free shopping arcade of stores (open between 8 am - 12-midnight) selling Carnival Cruise Lines logo merchandise.
Angelo's Restaurant (midship/forward Dining Room) boasts white tablecloths and attentive service. Multiple courses of complimentary Italian cuisine are offered in a fine-dining setting (guests just pay for their drinks). Some menu examples include slow-cooked pork neck, veal shank ragout, fontina, and pumpkin arancini balls, osso bucco, seafood cacciucco, pan-fried gnocchi and sweets like crispy cannoli. Bookings for dinner can be made at the reception desk.
The aft-located Asian Dragon Lady Restaurant features an origami-folded menu and non-alcoholic welcome shooters. Dishes are designed to be shared banquet-style, such as Indian spiced duck samosas, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, Chinese dumplings, Japanese tempura crusted sushi, barramundi green curry, honey prawns, chicken satay sticks. Desserts include mango and coconut sticky rice, a jar of apple caramel milkshake, salted dark chocolate cake with sesame ice cream. Dinner bookings are made at the reception desk outside the Dragon Lady.
