Emerald Astra (2026-built) is the tenth among the Emerald Waterways ships in the Star-class series. The riverboat's sisterships are the fleetmates Emerald Star, Emerald Sky, Emerald Sun, Emerald Dawn, Emerald Destiny and Emerald Luna.

Emerald Waterways (2014-established) is owned by the Australian river cruise and tours company Scenic Tours. Like the new Viking River Cruises longships, Emerald Waterways ships’ innovations make these vessels a competitive alternative to ocean cruising vacations. Emerald Waterways Astra boat just adds more choices of sailing dates and itineraries for the aficionados of the European luxury river cruise ship travel – the all-inclusive style.

Emerald Astra cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 91 staterooms for 180 passengers served by 52 crew/staff. Like most new European river cruise ships, Emerald Astra features 4 passenger decks, indoor swimming pool/night cinema (covered with a sliding roof), Bar Lounge, Dining Room Restaurant, Gym, Spa (massages room), Beauty Salon, passenger-use bikes, 1 elevator (connecting all 3 cabin decks).

Emerald Waterways Astra is an all-inclusive riverboat, with the following amenities included in the cruise fares:

• gratuities (both on board and on shore excursions/tours)
• port taxes
• all transfers to and from the boat
• all shore excursions
• beverages (including tea, coffee, soft drinks, bottled water) and alcohol (beer and wine by the glass at lunch and dinner)

There is no special dress code on board. Still, a smart-casual dress code for dinner is recommended (allowing jeans, but not shorts/flip-flops). There are no formal nights on Emerald Waterways cruises.
