Since May 2015, each year between September and April, the vessel is also chartered (renamed/rebranded as "MV World Odyssey") by Semester At Sea (an abroad study program/for foreign students) managed by Fort Collins Colorado's Institute for Shipboard Education. During the rest of the year (since 2016), the boat (as "MS Deutschland") is operated under charter by the Germany-based cruise line Phoenix Reisen Gmbh.
