Deck layout and review
Review of MS Excellence Baroness deck 4 (Sundeck-Pool)
Sun Deck is accessible from the Reception Lobby (midship), from the Main Lounge (forward) and also via a staircase from Middle Deck (aft). One Glass Elevator (passenger Lift) interconnects decks 1-2-3 (Main-Middle-Upper). A Stairlift connects decks 3-4 (Upper-Sundeck).
The Lower Sun Deck (forward) is an outdoor lounge (seating area with 4-seat tables and chairs) with bar service from the Main Lounge (forward on Deck 3). Next are the Navigation Bridge (passenger accessible, called Wheelhouse on riverboats) and the stands for the bicycles (used on land tours).
The all-teak Sun Deck is enclosed by glass railings and offers unobstructed 360-degree unobstructed views. It features a Jacuzzi (heated-water whirlpool hot tub after the Wheelhouse), sunbathing area (with loungers and deckchairs), three awnings in the back (shaded seating areas for relaxation) and an aft deck games area (Mini-Golf/Putting Green). The seating-relaxation area is encircled by Walking Track.
On select days, on the Sun Deck passengers can enjoy an al fresco lunch. Each morning (if weather permits) guests can enjoy here an open-air group exercise class.
All structures on Sundeck (Wheelhouse, railings, awnings) are collapsible and lowered when the cruise ship passe under low bridges.
