Review of MS Lofoten deck 4 (Saloon-Dining-Lounge)
Saloon Deck layout starts with an Outdoor Explorer Deck / Sun Deck terrace (forward location).
Next is the Bar – a popular after-dinner place for cocktails.
The Cafe is located aft of the dining room. This is a 24-hour open cafeteria (casual dining venue, tables are located in a row by the windows) with a la carte menu for snacks, hot/cold meals, beverages. The Cafe serves mainly local passengers, who use the Lofoten ship as a port-to-port ferry boat.
The Shop sells mostly Norwegian souvenirs and some Hurtigruten logo merchandise.
The dining room Restaurant offers buffet-style Breakfast (7:30-9 am, incl bacon, eggs, cold meats, cheeses, seafood, bread, cereals, muffins, fruits, coffee-tea-juice), Lunch (12:30-2 pm, incl 2 hot meals /strew and vegetarian, soup, made-to-order sandwiches, quiche, fruits, soft drinks). Dinner is reservations-only and waiter-served, with fixed sittings. The dinner menu is 3-course, with appetizer/soup, main course, and dessert. Wine by the bottle costs extra (a wine package is available for purchase at the restaurant).
Located aft is the Saloon Deck’s Lounge, which also offers 270-degree scenery views (with more restricted forward views).
Deck 4 also has four category A2 Outside cabins portside, each of them with 2 lower beds (one is convertible sofa) and private bathrooms.
