Review of MS Mayflower deck 2 (Lobby-Lounge)
The Mayflower ship’s Atrium Lobby is a 2-decks high midship area with open-floor design and grand staircase. The Lobby area has Reception (guest services desk for information and assistance), Excursions & Tours Director Desk (daily program’s activities information), Public Restrooms. The Lobby area on Deck 2 also has what they call “Upper First Salon” where Afternoon Tea is served. There are also 2 terraces (1 port side, and 1 starboard location) with small tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the Nile River scenery along the Mayflower’s cruise itinerary.
Sultan Lounge Bar (all indoor seating arrangement) is a most spacious Observation Lounge with its own bar, classy furniture and plenty of seating area with comfortable sofas, chairs, and small tables. It has panoramic floor-ceiling windows. The lounge also hosts Egypt tours-culture-history related lectures and talks led by a professional Egyptologist. The onboard multimedia presentations are all Egypt themed: dynasties and treasures, building techniques, hieroglyphics, archaeology (excavations), Egyptian keywords, and phrases (language basics).
The Lounge Bar serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, with a variety of specialty cocktails and a selection of wines. Know, that guests are not allowed to bring their own food or drinks on board from outside the ship.
Boutique Shop in the Atrium sells Egypt souvenirs and gifts, books and magazines, stamps and postcards, Egypt archaeology themed (itinerary-based) videos, luxury jewellery (18-carat gold silver items).
