Review of Marella Discovery deck 5 (Lobby-Lounge-Shops)
Squid & Anchor (capacity 338 seats) is a live show entertainment venue served by its own bar. The Lounge features a large stage for live performances and a dance floor. During the day, here are hosted bingo sessions, dance parties, karaoke events, art auctions, trivia quizzes, gameshows. It is also used for religious services. The Venue is complete with a large hi-tech LED screen, undulating bar, metallic pillars and copper-top tables. Virtual entertainment includes the new Splash Live! Interactive show for kids and Virtual Dance classes with Anton du Beke teaching how to cha-cha-cha and rumba; open from 5 pm to 11 pm.
Broad Street Shops are the ship’s duty-free shopping arcade with stores and boutiques selling fine jewelry, watches, Marella Cruises logoed merchandise, special occasion gifts and souvenirs, luxury perfumes, brand fashion clothes, liquor and tobaccos, convenience goods.
Destination Services is for Marella Cruises shore excursions and tours booking, planning, itinerary (ports of call) information.
Reception Desk provides 24-hour guest services (assistance, information, luggage and purser services).
Photo Gallery & Shop displays and offers for purchasing photos made by the ship’s professional photographers. It also sells duty-free photo/video equipment and accessories.
Main Restaurant (upper level 2 of 2)
Chef’s Table is a specialty, reservations-only restaurant part of the Main Dining Room. It opens at 7 pm, with a 5-course gourmet dinner menu (dining package /surcharge PP applies). A unique feature is that you can watch the chef preparing your food in front of you.
Gallery 47 (part of the MDR, galleried upper half) is a new signature restaurant located inside the Main Restaurant’s upper level. It serves contemporary Italian-cuisine specialties.
Lobby Deck also has the ship’s all 16 service boats (of which 10 lifeboats, 4 passenger tender boats, and 2 rescue boats).
Aft is located the cruise ship's Galley (47-degree Dining Room's kitchen and food storage rooms).
