Mein Schiff 5 (2016-built, last refurbished in 2023 November) is third among the newest TUI cruise ships. The Schiff 5 vessel has 5 sisters from the same series - Schiff 3 (2014), Schiff 4 (2015), Schiff 6 (2017), Schiff 1 (2018) and Schiff 2 (2019). The shipowner and operator TUI Cruises is a joint venture capital company of TUI AG (German travel corporation /formerly Preussag AG) and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (world’s second-largest passenger shipping company after Carnival).

TUI Mein Schiff 5 cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 1253 cabins for 2506 passengers (double occupancy/max 2700) served by 1000 crew-staff. The boat has 14 decks (12 passenger-accessible, 8 with cabins, 18000 m2 / 193,750 ft2 total outdoor deck space), 11 restaurants/bistros, 12 bars and lounges, 2 swimming pools (1 covered), 3 outdoor Jacuzzis, 10 elevators.

The ship’s design makers list features renowned companies, such as Wilson Butler Architects (deck areas, public spaces, theatre, concert hall), CM Design (interior/public areas, cruise cabins, restaurants, entertainment venues), Tillberg Design (interior). TUI Schiff 5 cruise rooms were pre-manufactured by STX Finland Cabins.

Complimentary dining options (included in all TUI Schiff 5 cruise deals) are Atlantik (Klassik, Brasserie, Mediterran), Anckelmannsplatz, GOSCH Sylt, Backstube, Tag & Nacht, Eis Bar, Osteria (pizzeria). At additional charge are the speciality restaurants Surf & Turf, Richards, Hanami (Asian), Schmankerl-Entspannt (Austrian).

TUI Schiff 5's last drydock was in 2021 (March 26 through April 2) at Chantier Naval de Marseille (in Marseille France). The project was for the vessel's 5-year classification inspection.
