Review of Pacific Jewel deck 14 (Sundeck-Spa-Sports-Kids)
Sun Deck
The Sun Deck layout starts with the ship’s “Aqua HealthSpaFitness” complex. It consists of Fitness Suite (modern Gym with personal trainers available on private Yoga, Pilates and fitness classes), Spa (Sauna, Steam Rooms and Massage Rooms for facials, reflexology, acupuncture) and a Beauty Salon (hair cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, manicure, pedicure, teeth-whitening, botox, barber services). The fitness suite offers 4 treadmills and 4 elliptical machines, some free weights and a few weight training machines. There is also a water fountain. Fresh towels are offered free of charge.
With portside location is “The Dome”. This is an observation lounge during the day, with ample seating, large dance floor, full-service bar. In the evenings (after 10:30 pm), The Dome becomes a disco nightclub. Pacific Jewel's Dome is different from the one found onboard sistership Pacific Dawn. On Jewel, it is a bright cozy lounge in which to relax by day, becoming a nightspot after dark for dancing, entertainment and enjoying a nightcap. A more intimate space, it also features floor-to-ceiling windows and a dance floor at the end. The Dome is also home to a modest library.
The “P&OEdge” program offers 20 different activities on the pacific Jewel ship, including climbing, jumping and racing through the ship, and even flying on ropes around the Atrium. Some of the most popular activities by this unique programme are named “Cargo Net Race”, “Flying fox”, “Slackline Bouncing Bridge”, “Atrium High Ropes”, “Aft Funnel Climb”, “Bungee Tramp”, “Bow Ladder Climb”. The P&O Edge program costs from US$19 for adults and US$14 for kids for slackline surfing to US$49 for adults and US$44 for kids for Segway introduction & obstacle course combination. It's a better value to buy Bronze (US$99 adults / US$89 kids), Silver (adults US$139 / US$119 kids) or Gold (adults US$165 / US$129 kids) pass, as passengers can do their favorite activities multiple times.
“Big Screen” is the ship’s outdoor movie theater with a large-size LED screen for movies, shows and sports (including NRL/AFL).
Walking/Jogging Track and Deck Games: (quoits, Giant Chessboard, golf putting green, shuffleboard).
