MS Paul Gauguin deckplan changes/refurbishments review
The scheduled for 2025 (February-March) drydocking in Singapore is an extensive, multi-million refurbishment project featuring redesigned and fully renovated public spaces and passenger staterooms. The project's key highlights include: 8 new Connecting Staterooms (added on Deck 7), Le Grill refit and renovations (white wood finishes, oak furnishings, ceramic accents, bamboo light fixtures, floor-to-ceiling windows), Pool Deck and Bar (a new teak surface, a mosaic-wrapped pool facade, a white canopy for shaded relaxation, Pool Bar fitted with carved white wood screens and new subtle lighting). Public spaces and staterooms will be refreshed with tropical-inspired color palettes, reupholstered furnishings, new carpeting, and woodwork restorations.
Besides the regularly scheduled maintenance/classification works, hull cleaning/repainting, and machinery overhauls, the ship will be upgraded with energy-efficient chillers, heat recovery systems, an Organic Rankine Cycle (onboard electricity generation) system, a seawater treatment plant (producing freshwater), a Nordaq (water filter) system, waste management system upgrades (glass crushers and compactors).
The vessel's extensive (USD 7 million) drydock refurbishment in 2012 resulted in new dining menus, an enhanced spa menu, remodeled Casino Lounge, cabins upgrades, and public spaces renovation. New shore excursions were also added to the PG Cruises program.
