Review of SS Maria Theresa deck 4 (Hofburg)
Habsburg Salon is the boat’s Main Lounge & Bar, with a dance floor, full-service bar, and stage for the live evening entertainment program. In the evenings here are offered live music performances by the resident duo (pianist/singer) and by local guests. The Habsburg Lounge hosts the Uniworld Cruises’ enrichment program, which includes cooking demonstrations and guest lectures (themed food and wine, art and music, culture, architecture, etc). A traditional pre-dinner event here is the Cruise Director’s talks. They offer information and tips about the next-day scheduled Uniworld excursions (complimentary) and optional tours (cost extra) ashore.
The Habsburg Lounge also has an outdoor observation seating area called Bohemian Terrace.
By the Habsburg’s Bar is located the second 24-hour coffee station for complimentary tea/coffee (with cafe tables, cookies, candies).
The “Pool” room (aft-portside location) has an indoor heated-water swimming pool and features floor-ceiling panoramic windows. The pool’s aft location gives the Maria Theresa ship an operational advantage. Its weight creates mass in the boat’s rear section, where vibrations tend to be a problem, thus helping for a super-quiet ride.
Aft is located the Bar du Leopard lounge – a classic lounge with a full-service bar. The Leopard bar lounge is traditionally present in most of the Red Carnation hotels. Red Carnation Hotel Collection (Uniworld’s sister company /hotel chain brand name) operates family-owned, 5-star luxury boutique hotels in Europe, USA, and South Africa.
The Leopard Bar has a small aft-terrace (outdoor seating area), and also serves the Sun Deck’s aft-terrace (also an outdoor seating area with 4-seat tables). Bar du Leopard also doubles as an alternative dining venue with waiter service and a light food menu (pizza, pasta, salads, soups, sandwiches). At both outdoor terraces (decks 4 & 5) are also served brunches and held cocktail parties in the evenings.
Hofburg Deck cruise cabins from 401 to 430, all of which are open-air full balcony staterooms in categories C1-Balcony, S-Suite with balcony, and the RS-Royal Suite (cabin #401 /portside). Five of all 10 Suite accommodations have a third bed available.
