Review of Uniworld River Tosca deck 1 (Nile)
Staff and crew cabins are located forward. Service rooms (laundry, linens, storage) are located aft.
Next is the ship’s well-appointed Dining Room restaurant (midship location). Due to its location on the lowest deck, it has small picture windows instead of the traditional large panoramic windows on most ships. At set times the restaurant offers buffet-style breakfast and lunch. Dining times are usually 1 hour before (breakfast) and 1 hour after the daily organized shore excursion. Buffet menu options include eggs, omelets, cold meats, cheeses, sandwiches, as well as Egyptian-cuisine specialties ((salads, hot entrees). Dinners are after 7 pm, waiter-served, and with an open-seating arrangement. The Dinner menu is 4-course and includes vegetarian and “chef’s choice” items plus a wine list. Know that on River Tosca, alcohol (wine and beer at dinner) is not included in the ticket price. Traditional specialties are often offered, such as kebabs and moussaka.
Boutique Shop (starboard) sells Egyptian souvenirs, special occasion gifts, books and magazines, stamps and postcards, Egypt archaeology and history-themed videos, as well as luxury jewelry (gold and silver items). Here can also be bought traditional clothing (like Jellabiya dresses, beaded tunics, headdresses).
