Viking Astrild (built 2015) together with Viking Beyla are the two modified longship-design Viking Cruises Elbe river ships. This longship version was specifically designed for cruises on river Elbe in Germany. The Astrild cruise ship is named after the Norse mythology’s goddess of love. She is the cupid who inspires love – and sets innocent hearts afire. The name Astrild in Old Norse means “love-fire”. “Desire”, “love and passion”, or simply “attraction and affection” are the names of her game. Beware of Astrild! And beware of love – as of all things beautiful – it’s both good and bad, it’s addictive, it’s not for the weak at heart!
Viking Astrild cruise ship deck plan has a total of 49 staterooms for 98 passengers served by 30 crew/staff, 3 passenger decks, no elevator. The Viking longship Astrild has no gym, pool/whirlpool or spa. Guests may access health & spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Astrild’s Elbe River cruise itinerary.
