Viking Ingvi (built 2014) is one of the new generation Viking Cruises longships. This river cruise ship is named after the Norse mythology’s son of Odin and ancestor-god of the Norwegian kings. The name Ingvi in Old Norse means “lord”. Because very often he is associated with god Freyr (sacral kingship, the ancestor-god of Swedish kings), many believe Ingvi and Freyr (Yngve-Freyr) are one and the same deity (Ingvi being only a title). So in a way, the “Viking Ingvi” ship is the Viking Lord-ship.
Viking Ingvi cruise ship deck plan has a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers served by 50 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 glass elevator (connecting Main-Upper decks only). The Viking longship Ingvi has no gym, pool/whirlpool or spa. Guests may access health & spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Ingvi’s itinerary route.
