Viking Magni (built 2013) is one of the new generation Viking Cruises longships. This river cruise ship is named after Magni – the Norse mythology’s god of strength. Magni, son of Thor (the “hammer” god of storms) is stronger even than his father. Only these two gods are strong enough to lift Thor’s hammer (named Mjollnir). Magni’s brother is Modi – the god who has his father’s battle wrath. So when the Viking warriors prayed for strength to Magni, they also prayed to his brother to give them rage, to kill their fear, to make them worthy of a glorious death on the fields of war.
Viking Magni cruise ship deck plan has a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers served by 50 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 glass elevator (connecting Main-Upper decks only). The Viking longship Magni has no gym, pool/whirlpool or spa. Guests may access health & spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Magni’s itinerary route.
