Viking Rinda (built 2013) is one of the new generation Viking Cruises longships. This river cruise ship is named after the beautiful Rinda – the Norse mythology’s wife of Odin (the father of all gods). When Baldur – one of Odin’s sons, was killed by mistake by his brother Hodur, Odin (the god of knowledge) learns of an ancient prophecy that the Rinda’s son named Vali would slay Hodur to avenge his son’s death. In order to fulfil the prophecy, Odin, disguised as a human, married Rinda – daughter of king Billing of the Ruthenians (Slavic people). From that marriage, Vali was soon born. In just one day he grows into a man, travels to Asgard and kills Hodur.
Viking Rinda cruise ship deck plan has a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers served by 50 crew/staff, 4 passenger decks, 1 glass elevator (connecting Main-Upper decks only). The Viking longship Rinda has no gym, pool/whirlpool or spa. Guests may access health & spa facilities at luxury hotels along the Rinda’s itinerary route.
