This riverboat is named after Torgil – the Danish explorer. Endowed with ships by their father (the Danish king Harald), Torgil (Thorgisl) and his brother Frode sailed westwards to raid the lands of Bretland (Wales and West England), Scotland, Ireland, and as far south as Portugal. They are also known as the Viking conquerors of Dublin, Ireland (841 AD), becoming its first kings.
