Review of Wind Star deck 3 (Lobby-Lounge-Dining-Spa)
The “AmphorA” is the ship’s Dining Room (capacity 80 seats, open-seating restaurant) serving dinner only (open 7-9 pm). The 5-course gourmet menu is changed daily, with appetizers, salads, soups and entrees, vegetarian choices, desserts. Always present in the Amphora’s menu are steaks, grilled fish, rack of lamb. Along with the onboard-made breads, the ship’s executive chef goes to local markets in all ports of call along the Wind Star itinerary route to shop for fresh ingredients and regional food specialties.
Next is the Lobby area which has the ship’s Reception (purser desk /starboard) and the Destination Services Desk (Windstar Cruises tours and shore excursions booking and information).
The “Signature Shop” (portside) is a well-stocked boutique selling duty-free fashion clothing and accessories, essentials, luxury perfumes and jewelry, also Windstar Logo merchandise, ship models, etc.
The small Library (portside) has a selection of books, travel guides, DVDs, board games, plus 2 Internet computers. Guests can also watch movies here.
The Casino (portside, capacity 35 seats) is part of The Lounge (separated by a glass wall) and has 2x blackjack tables, 1x roulette table, 10x slot machines.
The starboard located WindSpa is operated by Steiner. The wellness facility has 1 treatment room (for massages, aromatherapy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, facials), Sauna Room, Beauty Salon (for manicure/pedicure- and hair- and barber services). The Windstar’s “Spa Under the Stars” program allows passengers to enjoy spa treatments out on deck.
“The Lounge” is the ship’s entertainment venue with its own bar, small dancefloor and grand piano for live evening performances by a resident pianist, often playing in trio. The Lounge also hosts cocktail parties and other social events. Registration upon embarkation is also held here.
The yacht has 4 service boats (Zodiacs) serving as tenders and lifeboats.
