MS Europa 1 (1999-built, last refurbished in 2024 September) is Hapag-Lloyd's first newbuild cruise ship - followed by ms Europa 2 (2013). The vessel was constructed in Helsinki Finland. This is a top-luxury boutique ship operated with all-inclusive deals.

MS Europa deckplan changes 2017 refurbishment review
The ship's 2017 drydock refurbishment (September 27-October 13, done by Blohm+Voss in Hamburg Germany) resulted in the following changes:
- The entire wellness area (spa and gym aft on deck 7) was redesigned, renovated. The fitness equipment was upgraded. The spa amenities were upgraded.
- The ship's 36 suites without balconies were upgraded with new en-suite bathrooms.
- One of the ship's propulsion units (Azipod motor computer) was replaced.
During drydock 2022 (2-week project by Blohm+Voss, supervised by Trimline) were completely renovated 56 passenger staterooms, including flooring/new carpets, fixed furniture, soft furnishings, light fixtures and fittings.
The previous drydocking was in May 2020, for scheduled maintenance and classification works.
