The cruise industry is trying to rebuild after 2 years of lockdown due to the COVID crisis, and Jacksonville (JAXPORT, Florida) is about to get in on the action.
CCL-Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Spirit ship is scheduled to depart JaxPort on Monday, March 7th, in a symbolic return to getting back to business. The liner will set sail from Jacksonville for a 5-day cruise to the Bahamas.
The cruise company, not only uses the departure to celebrate its 50th birthday but also puts JaxPort FL back on the departure map.
Carnival Cruise Line announced this month that 17 of its vessels will be in service by the end of the year.
Carnival Spirit will depart at 5 PM on Monday, but not before the line holds a ribbon-cutting ceremony to welcome passengers back on board.
