Seabourn Cruises announced that Alison Levine - polar explorer, adventurer, mountaineer, entrepreneur - will serve as Godmother of Seabourn Venture, the first of the company’s 2 new ultra-luxury purpose-built expedition ships.
Alison Levine will be onboard and in the spotlight for the traditional christening of the liner, which is due to launch in July 2022.
Levine is an idyllic choice for Seabourn Venture's Godmother, with the ship being built to seek out adventures and natural wonders around the globe. A native of Phoenix (Arizona USA), Alison Levine served as team captain of the first American Women’s Everest Expedition back in 2002, and in 2010 completed her bid for Explorer’s Grand Slam including the Seven Summits' climbing (the highest peak on each continent) and skiing to the North and South Poles.
Seabourn Venture is currently the newest in the Seabourn fleet. The boat is currently scheduled for inauguration in July 2022 (initially in July & December 2021, April 2022). Venture's sistership (Seabourn Pursuit) is due to start operations in February 2023 (initially in 2022/May, then December).
Venture and Pursuit are part of Seabourn Expeditions' fleet. They are PC6 (Polar-Class 6) expedition cruise ships and carry (each) 2x mini-submarines (custom-built submersibles with a capacity of 7 persons/6 passengers + 1 pilot) plus a fleet of sea kayaks and 24x Zodiacs (large-capacity RIBs/motorized boats used for tendering and landings/shoreside exploration). Each ship has a total of 132 staterooms, all of which are outside (balconied) suites.
Itineraries for the first season of Seabourn Venture are now open for booking.
