CCL-Carnival Cruise Line revealed a new Miami-themed zone on Carnival Celebration, which is due to arrive at PortMiami (Florida USA) in November.
Named after the address of the line’s original headquarters, 820 Biscayne celebrates the architectural styles, culture, and flavors of the home city where CCL was founded back in 1972.
Located midship on Deck 8 (the same as "La Piazza" on sistership Mardi Gras), "820 Biscayne" will have a similar layout but with design elements reflecting Miami's urban-meets-laid back vibes. Bringing Miamian food & beverage offerings to the CCL fleet, 820 Biscayne will boast:
- "Bar 820" is a half inside, half outside retro bar that will have a “vintage cool” design with grab & go Cuban and specialty coffees, Miami-inspired tropical frozen drinks, and martinis day and night.
- "Deco Deli" is designed as a nod to the Art Deco mecca of Miami with colorful signage. It will serve more than classic deli sandwiches with a menu that highlights Miami staples like the Cubano, croqueta sandwich, and pan con lechon on Cuban bread.
- "Miami Slice Pizzeria" is a 24-hour complimentary restaurant offering authentic, hand-tossed slices amid a contemporary decor reminiscent of the late-night eateries on Ocean Drive.
Throughout the 820 Biscayne zone, passengers will experience the unique take on Miami's past with its present. From artwork to photo opportunities like posing with flamingoes, vacationers will feel like they’re walking around the ‘305.’
Carnival Celebration will be the 2nd LNG-powered CCL ship as part of the shipowner's/Carnival Corporation’s green platform.
Carnival Celebration’s inaugural voyage will set sail from PortMiami's "Terminal F" on November 21. The redesigned cruise terminal is among the first to be shoreside-power ready in 2023.
