Uniworld introduced a new 43-day land-and-cruise journey as the company confirmed the UK was its 2nd best-performing market.
Speaking at the 10th RiverView Conference of CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) in Budapest Hungary, Ellen Bettridge (Uniworld's President and CEO) told the 230 travel agency delegates about the World’s Most Exotic River & Land Journey, adding the itinerary was specifically for the UK cruise market.
She added the itinerary, which visits Egypt, India, Vietnam, Cambodia across 3 ships, was launched in response to demand for Uniworld’s first Rivers of the World itinerary that was sold just to Americans and Australians.
Addressing UK agents, Bettridge said they were going to have to show her that they were going to sell that.
"I want to see how this works out. It’s only for the UK.”
Bettridge told delegates the United Kingdom had risen above Australia and become the 2nd best-performing market for the cruise line.
Uniworld’s UK managing director Chris Townson confirmed the company’s first-ever multiple-rivers itinerary sold out “within days of going to market”.
“This fabulous 43-day itinerary reflects the clear trend we are seeing of customers booking back-to-back river cruises, wanting to maximise their time away and enjoy it at the highest levels of comfort and service.”
