On Thursday, April 7th, Costa Firenze debuted in Genoa (Milan, Italy), inaugurating the restart of Costa Cruises' operation from the port city.
In 2022 the Italian cruise line, which restarted operations in July 2021, will call at Genoa every Thursday through the end of November 2022, as part of a 7-day Western Mediterranean itinerary which also visits Marseille (France), Barcelona (Spain), Cagliari (Sardinia Italy), Palermo (Sicily Italy), and Civitavecchia-Rome.
In addition to Firenze, from November 13th until the end of 2022, the fleetmate Luminosa will also visit Genoa every Sunday, again for week-long Western Mediterranean voyages.
In 2022, Costa ships will dock in Genoa 45 times, after just a few in 2020-2021 due to the COVID crisis. In 2023, the company expects further growth of its presence in Genoa, due to the arrival (every Friday from April through November) of fleet's newest liner - Toscana.
There will be another major innovation onboard Costa Firenze, as her passengers will be able to visit Port Genoa freely, either by taking part in the shore excursions organized by the line, without the need for the “bubble” protecting them from contact with the external people or independently.
The new regulations, which came into force on April 1st, will be applied to all destinations, subject to compliance with any requirements imposed by local authorities.
