AQV-American Queen Voyages marked the return of Ocean Navigator, the final Lakes & Oceans ship to be added back to the fleet, as she welcomed her first guests in 2+ years.
The 202-passenger boutique coastal vessel, a sistership to Ocean Voyager, was greeted in Savannah (Georgia) at River Street Market Landing by city dignitaries, including Mayor Van R. Johnson, who toured the ship, visiting with officers and crew before an afternoon passenger embarkation.
The first cruise on Ocean Navigator in 2+ years is a 17-day itinerary up the Eastern Seaboard, visiting Charleston (South Carolina), Norfolk (Virginia), Baltimore (Maryland), Newport (Rhode Island), Nantucket (Massachusetts), and more, disembarking in Halifax (NS Canada).
Sistership Ocean Voyager will start making her way north to the Great Lakes after completing her final Southeast U.S. sailing from Jacksonville (JAXPORT, Florida) on April 12. Both Lakes & Oceans ships are scheduled to arrive in Toronto (Ontario Canada) on May 10 & 12 after exploring the Eastern Seaboard and Saint Lawrence Seaway. The first arrival at Chicago’s Navy Pier is due to be Ocean Navigator on May 18.
The month of April marked the 10th anniversary of the cruise company and the debut of the expedition cruise ship Ocean Victory on May 6, operating between Vancouver (BC Canada) and Sitka (Baranof Island, Alaska).
In June, AQV's Founder & Chairman, John Waggoner, and Culinary Ambassador, Regina Charboneau, are expected to celebrate the line’s 10th anniversary with 4 new Lower Mississippi River itineraries onboard the flagship American Queen.
The 9-day itineraries will sail between Memphis TN (Tennessee)-New Orleans (Port NOLA, Louisiana) with departures on June 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2022. Celebrating the 10th anniversary season, AQV Founder and Chairman John Waggoner is due to join the June 12 American Queen voyage from Port NOLA to Memphis TN to serve as host/special guest Riverlorian.
