MSC Cruises announced that its MSC Seaside ship will be homeported from Port Canaveral (Orlando, Florida) beginning April 16, 2023, with 3- and 4-night voyages to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas, and 7-night cruises to Cozumel and Costa Maya (Mexico), Belize, and Ocean Cay.
MSC Seaside, being of the popular Seaside-class ships specifically designed for Caribbean cruising, provides unique outdoor spaces along with a list of pampering amenities. MSC Seaside is part of the "smart" ships' series to be built by MSC, part of MSC's EUR 9 billion, 10-year investment plan, including the creation of up to 11 newbuilds, due to come into service 2017-2026.
MSC inaugurated year-round service from Port Canaveral in 2021, remarking at the time that the convenience for vacationers and modern terminals/amenities made it an excellent homeport for the line.
MSC Seaside will be the 3rd MSC ship to be based in Port Canaveral.
MSC Divina is spending the summer operating in the Caribbean from Port Canaveral, with Meraviglia taking over in October for her Winter 2022-2023 cruise season.
