RCI-Royal Caribbean to triple its cruise ship calls to St Croix Island (US Virgin Islands)

In a boost for the cruise industry of St Croix Island USVI (US Virgin Islands), RCI-Royal Caribbean announced plans to nearly triple its cruise ship calls on the island’s port in Frederiksted, the Virgin Islands Port Authority revealed. 

The announcement was made in a press conference at Seatrade's conference in Miami Beach, Florida

RCI is currently the only cruise company serving St Croix. 

According to RCI, it was part of a broader expansion to the USVI.

That will include up to 70% more cruise passengers to St Thomas Island USVI (Charlotte Amalie)

In a statement, the company said in St Croix they were going to almost triple their passenger volume.

According to USVI Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, the announcement was awesome news for them.

“If people out there in the world didn’t know that the USVI on the cruise side has come back to life, you know now. We are back open and we are growing exponentially.”
