HAL-Holland America’s ms Zaandam returned to service on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale (Florida USA), leaving just one more vessel until the line’s full fleet is operational again.
MS Zaandam embarked passengers for a 9-day Atlantic Coast voyage to Montreal (Quebec Canada) with port calls Boston, Massachusetts (May 15), Bar Harbor, Maine (May 16), Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada (May 17), Sydney NS, Nova Scotia Canada (May 18), Quebec City, Canada (May 20), that will base her in Canada/New England through October 2022.
This also marks the return to cruising in the Canada/New England region following a 2-year absence due to the COVID crisis.
Following the repositioning voyage along the east coast of North America, ms Zaandam will spend the summer and early fall sailing on Canada/New England cruises between Boston MA and Montreal.
Since HAL restarted cruising in July last year, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Noordam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Oosterdam, Rotterdam, and Zuiderdam have restarted service with sailings in the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe, Mexico, South Pacific, and California Coast. MS Volendam is currently under charter by the government of the Netherlands, positioned in Rotterdam to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.
Holland America will complete the restart of the fleet on June 12 with ms Westerdam in Seattle (Washington USA).
