RCI-Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas - currently the world’s 5th largest cruise vessel, is scheduled to arrive at Port Saint John (New Brunswick Canada) on June 8.
This is a major milestone for St John NB as this will be the biggest cruise ship to berth in the harbour since the first vessel arrived back in 1989.
RCI has been visiting Saint John since 1999. However, this is the first time Oasis OTS will call. With a max capacity of 5,000+ passengers, plus 2,000+ crew, it will be a bustling day in Uptown St John.
Andrew Dixon, Chief Operating Officer at Port Saint John said they looked forward with great anticipation to the first visit of Oasis OTS to Port Saint John. It was a testament to their city, region, province, and port, that they were able to attract to Saint John a cruise ship of that size, with a capacity for 5000+ cruise passengers.
“While the Oasis of the Seas is not our first ship in the post pandemic era, it will most definitely signal the return to a normal cruise day with all of the excitement and economic impact that we have been missing for two and a half years now.”
The AREA 506 Container Village will open the same week as the arrival of the RCI's Oasis OTS. These vacationers will be the first to disembark the liner through the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal and experience the Container Village as the first point of contact.
Royal Caribbean’s Oasis OTS is due to berth at ~9:20 am and departs at 9:25 pm on June 8.
