As of today, July 7, CCL-Carnival Cruise Line fans can register in order to be the “first to know” about the itineraries and special sale promotions of Carnival Luminosa at carnival.com/carnivalluminosa.
Costa Luminosa is due to join the CCL fleet in September 2022 and will commence passenger operations as Carnival Luminosa in November from Brisbane (Queensland Australia).
Carnival Luminosa is scheduled to operate seasonally from October 2022 through April 2023 from Brisbane and then reposition to Seattle (Washington), where she will sail Alaskan itineraries from May 2023 through September 2023, before returning to Brisbane.
Cruises from Brisbane will be announced shortly. Carnival will sail various itineraries that will initially feature visits to Australian favorites like Airlie Beach and the Great Barrier Reef, and, as destinations open over time, call ports like Noumea and Lifou Island in New Caledonia, Mystery Island and Port Vila in Vanuatu, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea.
Luminosa is a sistership to the 4x other Spirit-class ships that already sail for Carnival. Given the short timeline to get her ready for service, the liner will go through modest updates to change over from Costa to Carnival over the next months ahead of her November service start-up.
