Port Tarragona (Spain Costa Daurada) expects to receive ~70,000 cruise passengers, which is ~10,000 more than initially scheduled due to 8 new calls by MSC Cruises, the Port Authority announced.
MSC goes from having 1 stopover to a total of 9 and the first of the ships - MSC Bellissima, will dock at 7 am this coming Sunday, July 17, with ~4000 passengers onboard, in addition to the disembarkation of ~300 passengers and the embarkation of ~400 others.
MSC Bellissima will also call at Tarragona on Sundays (July 31, Aug 21, Sept 4 & 25, Oct 9, 16 & 23 and, on Friday, November 11, the MSC Magnifica will take over.
This has been reported by Josep Maria Cruset (APT's President) at a meeting held on Thursday, July 14th, of the Creuers institutional Taula, made up of institutions and agents from Tarragona.
La Taula boasts a new member, GPH-Global Ports Holding, the cruise ship terminal concession company (to be active in the fall of 2023), and a state-of-the-art building in which they'll invest EUR 5.5 million.
