P&O Cruises UK announced that the stage show “Greatest Days” – The Official Take That Musical", was the latest addition to the Arvia ship's line-up of live show entertainment.
P&O Arvia (scheduled for inauguration in December 2022) is the only place in the world where tourists will be able to watch the show (an adaptation of the West End musical The Band) featuring Take That's songs and a story by Olivier Award-winning writer Tim Firth.
"Greatest Days" was named in celebration of the upcoming film adaptation of The Band.
It is a story about friendship and music focused on five 16-year-old girls back in 1993 for whom Take That is everything. The girls reunite after 25 years apart and try to fulfill their dream of meeting the boy band whose music had become the soundtrack to their lives.
"Greatest Days" features the music of Britain’s all-time most successful boy band. Take That's songs include A Million Love Songs, Back for Good, Greatest Day, Never Forget, Relight My Fire, The Flood, Shine and Rule the World.
The members of Take That said that almost 10 years ago, they had had the idea of writing a musical with their songs. It had been a big wish of theirs to make a show with Take That’s music, but without them - the story of their lives. And their wishes had come true and 5 years ago they had debuted The Band Musical to the world. Now they "couldn’t be prouder to bring the story to P&O Cruises under its new name – Greatest Days."
“In Tim Firth we found an author who invented a completely different and wonderful story to which our music makes the perfect frame. A story with a lot of heart and friendship. A musical that shows how music brings friends together. The story works so wonderfully, you don’t even have to know our music!”
