On June 29, the 17th new riverboat - MS Amadeus Cara, joined the fleet of Amadeus River Cruises.
The vessel was christened by Godmother Anna Luftner who unveiled the name of the 5-star riverboat amid the backdrop of the Kolner Dom/Cathedral of Cologne/Koln (Germany).
After the naming ceremony and traditional blessing, the 135-m ship was showcased during a round-trip voyage on the Rhine. Amadeus Cara offers a maximum of 162 passengers an unforgettable river vacation complete with multiple amenities, including culinary delights of the highest order and beautifully appointed contemporary staterooms.
AMADEUS Cara received the Green Award due to her being outfitted with the most modern ship engine available complete with technology that reduces CO2 output. The ship also boasts a state-of-the-art air filter system that ensures hygienic air throughout the ship's interior.
AMADEUS Cara was constructed at the Dutch shipbuilder TeamCo Shipyard BV (in Heusden, North Brabant/Netherlands). Cara's itinerary program is based on homeporting in Passau Germany, Amsterdam Netherlands, and Basel Switzerland.
The Maiden Voyage (8-day Rhine itinerary) departed from Cologne on July 2nd. Prices started at EUR 2000 (~GBP 1690) per person with double occupancy.
