CCL-Carnival Cruise Line gave a glimpse at some of the special cocktails created to flavour future vacations onboard its next new ship, Carnival Celebration, set to debut at PortMiami FL in November, with an homage to the line’s hometown homeport.
Celebration’s homecoming will continue to mark Carnival’s 50th birthday in Miami, where the Fun Ships first started operations.
Bar 820 will feature a number of Miami-inspired tropical martinis and other beverages that will infuse the essence of South Florida throughout each voyage and represent a mixture of local partnerships onboard.
The beverage team of Carnival created special martinis in tribute to the Miami roots of the company and unveiled them at Tropical Distillers close to downtown Miami. The new distillery of Tropical Distillers is set for a debut of its own this fall. It will provide a major component, JF Haden’s Mango Liqueur, for one of Celebration’s exclusive cocktails, Mango 305.
Carnival worked with local partners Filthy Foods and Magic City Garnish to source the garnishes adorning each cocktail. The brew team is also working with M.I.A. Beer Company on the brewery’s Miami Weiss beer and on a collaborative beer.
Additional beverages are to be unveiled when Carnival Celebration makes her way to PortMiami this fall. The new cruise ship will join sistership Mardi Gras as CCL’s second Excel-class vessel and offer year-round, 7-day Caribbean roundtrips from the USA beginning with the maiden voyage from PortMiami on November 21st.
