DCL-Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship will be named Disney Treasure and will start sailing in 2024, it was revealed at the D23 Expo in California this weekend.
The 6th Disney boat has been specially designed with adventure in mind. Treasure will be a TRITON-class vessel (sistership to the 2022-built Disney Wish) featuring characters from Aladdin, one of the company's classic films. Aladdin and Jasmine will be cast in gold in the vessel’s 3-deck-tall Grand Hall/Atrium. They'll be joined by a statue of the magic flying carpet, which whisks them over the desert sands of Agrabah.
Filled with the “grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace”, Disney Treasure will draw on “real-world influences from Asia and Africa and pay homage to the far-off land of Agrabah”, the cruise company said.
DCL also shared details on Lighthouse Point, the company's exclusive and newest private island destination in the Bahamas. Situated in Eleuthera, Lighthouse Point encapsulates the beauty of the Bahamas and will offer swimming pools, beaches, and hotels, highlighting Bahamian culture for guests. It will be powered 90% through solar energy. Lighthouse Point is less than 200 km from Castaway Cay - Disney's private island in the Bahamian Abaco chain.
