DeCurtis Corporation (a leading location-and-proximity-based software developer) announced that its DXP/DeCurtis Experience Platform was driving a new kind of ship cruising experience for Virgin Voyages.
Virgin is now expected to deliver a technology-enhanced experience unlike any other at sea, partnering with DeCurtis Corporation and leveraging the Aruba ESP network.
the cruise line currently has a couple of award-winning ships deployed and 2 more in development, all with a capacity of ~4,000 passengers and crew onboard each vessel.
The DeCurtis Experience Platform enables both of the passenger-favorite experiences available in the Virgin Voyages' app, along with other features, such as ‘smart home’ capabilities in each stateroom, contactless payments through ‘The Band,’ on-demand dining and activity reservations.
Once onboard, the crew continues to provide premium service using the DXP. Crew devices can create maintenance tickets, submit requests, help Sailors/passengers make or change dining reservations, as well as facilitate the required muster drill with the option to watch the demo video on personal devices/on the cabin TV.
Additionally, in cooperation with DeCurtis, Virgin created a virtual queuing system so that its tourists are not subjected to long lines. Instead, the app sends an alert when it is their turn to board the cruise ship/head to dinner/attend a show/disembark at a port of call. The focus on a frictionless experience allows Virgin's Sailors to enjoy the amenities, and the technology driving the experiences creates a 5-star experience anywhere onboard.
