CFC-Compagnie Francaise des Crocieres (new French cruise brand line) has chosen Damen Brest Shipyard to carry out the refurbishment/technical upgrades of their first vessel - CFC Renaissance.
The 1993-built former ms Maasdam of HAL-Holland America will be repainted.
All staterooms and public areas will receive upgrades.
During the drydocking, CFC Renaissance will be also fitted with a ballast water treatment system. The current open-loop scrubber system will be replaced by closed-loop technology to eliminate any pollution from exhaust gas cleaning.
The liner is scheduled to arrive in Brest (France) on Friday, October 7.
Technical tests are to be carried out during the sailing from Aigio via Malta that commenced on September 28, the Marseille-based company revealed in a statement.
Renaissance will sail roundtrip voyages from Port Le Havre (Paris) and Marseille Fos Port.
Damen Group has shipyards in a number of countries and is headquartered in Gorinchem (Netherlands).
