AOV-Atlas Ocean Voyages announced that it had taken delivery of the 200-passenger expedition ship World Traveller, which is due to be officially named on November 20th.

The handover ceremony took place onboard the vessel at the WestSea shipyard (in Viana do Castelo, Portugal) on October 7, where the yacht-style ship was built. From Portugal, World Traveller will reposition to Ushuaia (Argentina) where she is to be based for Antarctica expeditions.

The vessel is owned by Mystic Invest (via the subsidiary Mystic Cruises) and operated under charter by Atlas Ocean Voyages (a US-based travel company, a new brand owned by Mystic Invest).

World Traveller is AOV's second vessel, joining sistership World Navigator. Both will be named at a dual christening ceremony at Chile’s Garibaldi Glacier.

AOV will showcase the vessel to North American dignitaries, travel agents, and international media before she sets sail on her maiden voyage on November 21.

Following a series of expeditions to Antarctica, World Traveller will be deployed in the Mediterranean (RepositionCruises.com) for 7- to 10-day voyages. In August 2023 are offered three European Arctic expeditions.

World Traveller is a Polar Category C/Ice Class 1B-certified passenger vessel and caters to tourists with a passion for exploring off-the-beaten-path places.
