Virgin Voyages’ second ship, Valiant Lady, is currently en route from Europe to the USA for the first time.
The liner set sail on Sunday, October 16, on a 2-week Transatlantic voyage (RepositionCruises.com) from Barcelona (Spain) to PortMiami (Florida).
Valiant Lady is scheduled to arrive in PortMiami on October 30, marking her first-ever visit to the United States.
The official “MerMaiden” voyage of Valiant Lady will be a 6-night Halloween-themed roundtrip from Miami on October 30. Richard Branson (Virgin Group's founder) will be onboard, and a number of special activities are expected to take place to celebrate both the first cruise from the USA and Halloween.
Those include a Shore Thing event where attendees can receive a mermaid tail, certificate, and photo, as well as access to an exclusive party. Other passengers can join in on the fun without booking the Shore Thing experience, as long as they bring a mermaid tail onboard.
The “sea-monster bash at sea”, Scarlet Fright Night, will take place to celebrate Halloween, complete with commemorative gifts.
Valiant Lady entered service in March 2022 and has been operating in the Mediterranean and northern Europe since then. Valiant is virtually identical to Virgin’s first vessel - Scarlet Lady, which is also homeported in Miami. The vessels are with volume 110,000 GT-tons and capacity 2700+ passengers and 1150 crew.
Virgin’s 3rd boat, Resilient Lady, is due to enter service in May 2023.
The 4th boat, Brilliant Lady, has a scheduled debut in December 2023.
