An RCI-Royal Caribbean cruise passenger visiting Trunk Bay on St John Island (US Virgin Islands) was pulled unresponsive from the water on Wednesday, October 19, and pronounced dead at the scene, a report by the USVI Police Department stated.
The family of the man, 72-year-old Alfred Fahlstedt, indicated that he had an ongoing medical condition. The cause of the death is pending the medical examiner’s findings.
A call to the 911 Emergency Call Center reported that Fahlstedt had been pulled from the water at Trunk Bay by crew members and passengers from the Symphony of the Seas ship, who started to administer CPR, VIPD revealed.
The EMS team from the Myrah Keating Smith Health Center which responded to the call was unable to retrieve a pulse and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The liner was on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean voyage roundtrip from PortMiami Florida USA.
